Multi-Species Transcriptome Assemblies of Cultivated and Wild Lentils (Lens sp.) Provide a First Glimpse at the Lentil Pangenome

چکیده

Lentils (Lens sp.) are one of the main sources protein for humans in many regions, part because their rusticity allows them to withstand semi-dry climates and tolerate a wide spectrum pests. Both also highly sought-after attributes face climate change. Wild accessions, rather than cultivated varieties, typically holders most influential alleles traits. However, genomic transcriptomic research conducted lentils has been carried out on commercial accessions (L. culinaris), while wild relatives have largely neglected. Herein, we assembled, annotated, evaluated transcriptomes eight lentil including Lens culinaris relatives: L. orientalis, tomentosus, ervoides, lamottei, nigricans, two odemensis. The assemblies allowed, first time, comparison among different taxa at coding sequence level, providing further insights into evolutionary relationships between germplasm suggesting grouping seven least three conceivable gene pools. Moreover, orthologous clustering allowed estimation pan-transcriptome. It is composed 15,910 core genes, encoded all 24,226 accessory genes. pan-transcriptome clusters were screened Pfam-domain enrichment. present study high novelty, as it analysis using six species addition species. Because amount transcript sequences provided, our findings will greatly boost assist breeding efforts.

Evaluation of Wild Lentil Species as Genetic Resources to Improve Drought Tolerance in Cultivated Lentil

Increasingly unpredictable annual rainfall amounts and distribution patterns have far reaching implications for pulse crop biology. Seedling and whole plant survival will be affected given that water is a key factor in plant photosynthesis and also influences the evolving disease spectrum that affects crops. The wild relatives of cultivated lentil are native to drought prone areas, making them ...

Transcriptome Sequencing of Diverse Peanut (Arachis) Wild Species and the Cultivated Species Reveals a Wealth of Untapped Genetic Variability

To test the hypothesis that the cultivated peanut species possesses almost no molecular variability, we sequenced a diverse panel of 22 Arachis accessions representing Arachis hypogaea botanical classes, A-, B-, and K- genome diploids, a synthetic amphidiploid, and a tetraploid wild species. RNASeq was performed on pools of three tissues, and de novo assembly was performed. Realignment of indiv...

Comparative bioinformatics analysis of a wild diploid Gossypium with two cultivated allotetraploid species

Background: Gossypium thurberi is a wild diploid species that has been used to improve cultivated allotetraploid cotton. G. thurberi belongs to D genome, which is an important wild bio-source for the cotton breeding and genetic research. To a certain degree, chloroplast DNA sequence information are a versatile tool for species identification and phylogenetic implications in plants. Different ch...
